The Mercedes-Benz W201 is the internal designation for the Mercedes 190 series sedans, a range
of front-engine, rear drive, five passenger, four-door sedans manufactured over a single generation, from 1982 to 1993 as the company’s first compact class automobile.

Designed by Bruno Sacco, head of styling at Mercedes-Benz from 1975 to 1999, the W201 debuted at the 1982 Paris Motor Show. The performance model was known as the 190 E 2.3-16, and debuted in September
 at the 1983 Frankfurt Motor Show

Mercedes spent over £600 million researching and developing the W201.

Sportservice Lorinser GmbH, founded 1930 in Winnenden, Germany, is a specialist tuning company for
Mercedes-Benz.In 1935, Lorinser became Daimler AG’s official reseller and takes over the maintenance and service responsibility for the Mercedes brand. Erwin Lorinser, the founder, started to involve his son, Manfred, in the business during 1974 by appointing him as the Managing Director.
