Porsche 935 Folger
During the late 1980s and early 1990s, the Porsche 935 had already earned legendary status. Factory and private teams such as Kremer, Joest, and Gelo had pushed the platform to its limits on the world’s most demanding tracks. After its competitive career ended, the 935 chassis and aerodynamic philosophy found a second life in the hands of collectors, tuners, and private builders who wanted to capture the essence of the most extreme 911 ever created.
The Folger 935 is one of these rare, privately-built cars — not an official factory Porsche works car or a documented Kremer Racing chassis — but rather an interpretation of the 935 silhouette concept, executed in the style of late-era customer builds. The project followed the same spirit as many post-racing 935 conversions: wide aerodynamic bodywork, extreme turbo power, and a look directly inspired by the famous 935/78 “Moby Dick.”
Unlike the factory cars built from 1976 to 1981, the Folger-based chassis was assembled long after Porsche had ended its Group 5 program. Instead of being a pure race chassis designed for Le Mans, it represents the transformation of the 911 into a road-capable machine that visually echoes the 935, carrying its dramatic proportions into a completely different context — a collector’s custom build.
