Kaipan 14

The Czech carmaker Kaipan was actually created out of a compulsion and reluctance of the authorities to approve a single roadster. What first looked like a project of a passionate enthusiast later developed into a small-lot manufactory. Take an old favourite, gut it, strip off the bodywork, add a few spicy Kaipan parts, stiffen it all up with a frame and wrap it in a new Kaipan 14 body.

Then just enjoy the ride with the wind in your hair. That’s how you could write the manual for the new Kaipanu14. This new and attractive contribution from the small Czech car maker from Smržovka follows in the footsteps of the first Republican sports roadster makers.

In the production of this car, which is actually a rebuild, all the essential components are taken from the previous car, except the bodywork. The engine, transmission, axles, brakes, steering, shifting, exhaust, tank, wiring and other parts are used from the škoda favorit. These are mounted in a new body with a reinforced frame, fitted with new lights, seats, mirrors and other parts.
