gemballa cyrrus ruf If you were looking for the craziest porche of all time, you’d probably end up with the tuned GEMBALLA CYRRUS. Only 13 of these custom builds have ever seen the light of day. The base was a 964 Turbo that was completely rebuilt (exterior and interior) by the most prestigious and expensive tuner of its time, UWE Gemball, while the engine and transmission in 6 of the 13 produced were taken care of by another top Porche tuner – RUF, who added 80 horsepower to the original version. Unlike other tuners of the 1980s, Gemballa made the entire bodywork out of steel and did not use fiberglass, and that’s also why the price of such a modification rose to astonishing levels. The rebuild of the show car alone was more than the price of a new 911 turbo. This car was also loved by early 90’s rap icon Vanilla ICE.
